Don’t you hate when those unwanted Soviet relics get in the way?

Okay, I promise pretty soon I’ll actually start posting random thoughts and other things as opposed to just pictures.  Blame work and the thesis.

I went with a friend to the latest incarnation of Budapest romkert West Balkán a couple weekends ago. Currently it’s in a temporary location that I think will be left as a playground for kids in the apartments currently being built in the area. This image lets you see the remnants of an old building on the bottom left, with a new building under construction across the street.

The picture was a 15 second exposure with a Canon SD1000. I can’t give more technical details, since the camera does it automatically, even when I’d rather it not. But I liked this photo.

I took this picture in the French Alps near Le Corbier and La Toussuire. If you want to see what the image looks like in non-HDR for comparison, check out the standard exposure version here.

I was at the intersection of Csalogány utca and Kapás utca looking east when I took the photos for this HDR shot. You can see part of the parliament building toward the back.

No, this HDR image looking at Ferenciek tere from in front of the university library has nothing to do with the title, it’s just so I post something other than links. The opening scene of the film Underworld with Kate Beckinsale was shot here, as well as the descent into the metro where there’s a gun fight, which to anyone who’s actually caught the metro from there, was obviously substituted with a set for the film.

Here’s a picture of me with a good friend I finally located in New Orleans in the days before Katrina, as in literally days before Katrina. It’s one of the random pictures I took over the years before ultimately not adding anything else for a long time. My guess is most of you never saw them, so here’s a link to the random collection.

This is an HDR photo of Leadenhall Market I made while visiting London earlier this month.

Real early this morning, I looked out the window to see it was snowing. Obviously, I made an HDR image of the three photos I snapped. The streetlights really gave the entire street a yellow glow.
