The last time Mark and I honestly tried to do a project together was a band back in high school, which resulted in us not speaking with each other for about a year and a half. Since then, Mark has admitted he was a bit control-freaky, while I have conceded that my songwriting skills were not quite spectacular. I assure you they have improved and are now mediocre.

We first had the idea of this collaboration years ago, before all this wonderful blogging software came around, meaning you’d have to edit all the html yourself, upload the files via FTP, and a bunch of other boring steps I won’t waste your time with. So, not that long ago, I asked Mark if he’s up for trying this out again. Obviously, he replied with an unambiguous “sure, why not?”

There isn’t really any constant theme that will be addressed here. It will just be whatever catches our attention. Also, since both of us have left the mind-numbing suburbia of Orange County and are currently in our ancestral homelands, (with varying results), it just seemed like a wonderful opportunity to write about how things don’t always go as we would expect them to.

For me, this is a relaunch of the quasi-blog I meant to start about a year and a half ago when I got to Liverpool but didn’t quite get off the ground. For Mark, I’m sure it’s a life-affirming moment. This is aimed primarily at friends and family, and whoever else may stumble across this site.

As for the question of who the hell thought up “Liberated Paprika Front?” Well, I registered this domain years back because I wanted a quasi-militant but simultaneously goofy sounding name. I think I succeeded more in the case of the latter and less with respect to the former.
